Meredith Voegerl to Seek Dubois County Council Seat

Dubois Co. - Meredith Voegerl has filed to run for the Dubois County Council, District 3 subject to the May Republican Primary.

The County Council has seven members, four of whom are elected from districts and three elected at-large. District 3 is comprised of the townships of Columbia, Ferdinand, Hall, Jackson, Jefferson, and Marion. Current Councilman Charmian Klem announced earlier that she would not seek reelection in 2022.

Meredith Voegerl is a 1999 graduate of Jasper High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Spanish and Business from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2003. She is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Southern Indiana.

Voegerl is employed as the Manager of Business Development and Marketing by Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. Following graduation from IU, she was employed by the Indianapolis Star and then was employed for 15 years by HLS Pharmacies, Inc., a family- owned business known locally as Flick’s drugs. She and her husband currently own a mobility products and services business called Compass Mobility.

Meredith Voegerl and her husband, David “Ottie” Voegerl live in Marion Township. They have three children, Grant (10), Carys (8), and Auden (5).

Voegerl served from 2014-2016 on the Jasper Plan Commission prior to moving out of the Jasper community. She served on the Jasper Action Team and the Jasper Strassenfest Committee. She was the Strassenfest Chairperson in 2010 and 2011. She is currently serving on the PTO Board of the Jasper Elementary School, a position she has held since 2017. In 2019, she served on the Next Act (Astra Theater) Board of Directors. She and her husband are also members of Celestine Park and Celestine Community Club.

As a person who defines her more than 15 years work experience as relationship- building, Meredith feels the duties of the County Council would uniquely match her skill set. “The Council is responsible for answering to taxpayers in the county. I would consider it a privilege to represent fellow community members and to listen to their unique needs. We all benefit from the same community services. Holding a seat on the County Council would be rewarding, allowing me the opportunity to live amongst those in the district and to be a part of positive change in Dubois County.”
