JASPER -- Memorial Hospital in Jasper has received a five-star ranking from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The five-star ranking is the highest possible achievement.

Memorial is one of 407 hospitals in the nation and only 11 in the state to receive the distinction.

The assessment measures how well a hospital performs compared to other hospitals in the nation.
