Memorial Hospital Announces June Classes: Stop the Bleed and Your Health and Diabetes

Jasper – Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center has announced a pair of classes in the month of June.

Stop the Bleed

In emergency situations, the help given by an immediate responder can often make the difference between life and death, even before professional rescuers arrive.  Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Ambulance Services is offering “Stop The Bleed®”. This informational program focuses on the immediate response to bleeding, recognizing life-threatening bleeding, and appropriate ways to stop the bleeding.

The next program is Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 8:00-9:15 a.m. in the 1st Level Conference Room at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, 800 West 9th Street, Jasper, IN.  This class is free, but pre-registration is required by emailing B.J. Sherman, Trauma Services at Memorial Hospital, at [email protected].

Your Health and Diabetes

Discovering the diagnosis of diabetes can be overwhelming. Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center wants to support you in this transition of lifestyle, and sponsors a continuing education group for persons with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or anyone who is interested in learning about the disease.

The topic for the June class is “Blood Sugar: Managing Highs and Lows”.

This support group is held the third Monday of each month and provides knowledge to help you feel more secure, manage problems, and avoid hospitalization for diabetes-related issues.  The next meeting will be Monday, June 20, 2022, from 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. in Memorial Hospital’s Board Conference Room B/C in the lower level, at 800 West 9th Street in Jasper.
