McPherron Seeks Re-Election of County Recorder Seat
Local Sources - Jackie Messmer McPherron has filed candidacy for the re-election of Dubois County Recorder and will
be on the Republican ballot for the May primary.
McPherron has served as a State Delegate for several years and has been a member of AIC Association
of Indiana Counties Legislative Committee. She is currently serving on the Legislative Committee for the
Indiana Recorders Association as well as the Dubois County Commission on Public Records Committee.
She is a recent graduate of the NACO (National Association of Counties) High Performance Leadership
Academy. In addition, she has received numerous awards from the AIC Institute of Excellence for
continuing education credits.
She attended Vincennes University of Jasper majoring in business and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She maintains her certification as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and has been a Notary Public for over 25
years.
One of the topmost accomplishments that McPherron has implemented during her first three years as
the County Recorder was establishing Electronic Recording of documents for Dubois County. This has
become the most convenient and enormously popular way for documents to be recorded. E-recording
was proved especially instrumental during the onset of the pandemic, by aiding banks, title companies
and attorneys to be able to process loans, real estate transactions and mortgage refinancing during the
height of the shutdown period. This also allowed our county citizens to take advantage of the falling
interest rates during that time.
She is married to Stephen McPherron and they reside in Huntingburg. They have three children. Danielle Schaust (Will) lives in Indianapolis, while Jackson (19) and Alyssa (15) live at home.
