Man Allegedly Admits to Inhaling Toxic Vapors Prior to Crash in Jasper Wednesday

JASPER -- Jasper Police responded to a single vehicle accident Wednesday evening on St. Charles Street.

26-year-old Benjamin Claxton reportedly left the roadway and down an embankment where he hit a culvert, the vehicle landing on its side.

Claxton allegedly told police he had been inhaling duster before the crash.  He’s charged with felony OWI Endangering a Person and Inhaling Toxic Vapors.

Claxton was taken to Memorial Hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash.  We don’t know how severe his injuries were.
