Mammals of the Patoka River Refuge

Oakland City- The Friends of the Patoka River NWR are hosting a Mammals refuge Monday.

On Monday June 13th at the Patoka River National Wildlife Reserve in Oakland City, the Friends of the Patoka River NWR along with Guest Speaker Julie Loehr will host an information event at the outdoor classroom next to Boyd’s Trail.

Loehr will share information on current distribution and status of mammals in the wildlife reserve as well as information on dental formulas as a means of identification.

Mammal skins for identification will be on hand along with some skulls. Take home handouts and hands on mammal track identification activities will be available.

The program begins at 5:30 pm central time, and is expected to last an hour and a half. Insect repellent is suggested.
