Loogootee Man Arrested for OWI at Four Times Legal Limit in Jasper Shopping Center

Jasper - A Loogootee man was arrested early Wednesday for an OWI, testing at four times the legal limit.

Wednesday, at approximately 10:18 a.m., Jasper Police Officers were dispatched to the area of the Southgate Shopping Center. The call stemmed from another individual noticing a "strong odor of alcohol coming from his person" while in a store. The male was reported to have gotten into the seat of a maroon Ford Fusion in the parking lot.

As officers arrived, they observed the vehicle moving from one parking space to another parking space on the other side of the lot.

Matthew Flynn, 36, of Loogootee, was identified as the driver and failed a Field Sobriety Test. Flynn was transported to Memorial Hospital for a blood draw. Flynn tested at a blood alcohol content level of .332, over four times the legal limit.

Flynn was taken to the Dubois County Security Center and charged with Operating While Intoxicated with a prior conviction, and OWI over .15%.
