Local Students Visit Statehouse
Local Sources- State Sen. Mark Messmer (R-Jasper) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in March and April.
- Noah Dilger, from Ferdinand, attends Heritage Hills High School
- Akayla Eichmiller, from Dubois, attends Northeast Dubois Jr/Sr High School
- Isaiah Harvey, from Winslow, attends Pike Central Middle School
- Savannah McIntosh, from Jasper, attends Northeast Dubois Jr/Sr High School
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.
"Each session, I look forward to introducing local students to our state government and showing them around the Statehouse," Messmer said. "It is always encouraging to see Hoosier students show an interest in how our state operates."
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
