Local farms receive Hoosier Homestead awards

Longstanding local family farms recently received Hoosier Homestead awards for being in operation for 100 years or more.
In Dubois County, the Hoppenjans Farm (featured), in operation since 1921, and the Lawrence Gutgsell Farm (below), in operation since 1910, both received Hoosier Homestead Centennial awards. In Martin County, the Sherfick Farm, in operation since 1920, also received a centennial award.

These farm families were among 73 recognized with centennial, sesquicentennial or bicentennial awards at the Indiana State Fair for their commitment to Indiana agriculture.

Congratulations to these hardworking Hoosier farmers and their families!
