Liberty Mine in Boonville to Close This Spring Impacting More Than 80 Employees

BOONVILLE – The Liberty Mine in Warrick County will close coal mining operations at its Boonville plant this spring.
White Stallion Energy in Evansville announced this week it plans to close their Boonville mine, impacting around 80 jobs.
Regular employees are being offered the opportunity to transfer to one of the company’s other mining sites, according to Inside Indiana Business.
The company did not provide a specific reason for the closure.
