Kimball International Enters Agreement to Acquire Poppin, Inc.
COMPANY NEWS RELEASE
JASPER -- Kimball International recently outlined plans to accelerate its business into the future with the next phase of the Kimball International strategy, Connect 2.0.
The company announced Wednesday its intent to acquire a fast-growing, digitally enabled commercial furniture company: Poppin.
Poppin designs fresh and clever commercial furniture that is made to mix, match and scale in today’s modern
office and work-from-home environments.
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in New York City, it has about
100 employees. Poppin has combined its eCommerce platform with a dedicated salesforce and network of five
showrooms to rapidly become one of the industry’s leading disruptors, serving small- to medium-sized
businesses and selling direct to consumers at Poppin.com.
Kimball International’s deep industry and operational expertise combined with Poppin’s direct and digitally native
platform uniquely positions us in the evolving commercial furnishings marketplace.
Kristie Juster, CEO of Kimball International commented, “The addition of Poppin to the Kimball International
family provides us with a meaningful growth engine that aligns with our recently-launched Connect 2.0 Strategy
and with our longer term vision to create a leading omnichannel commercial furnishings design powerhouse.”
The company’s focus will be on accelerating both businesses and on preserving what is already working well.
Poppin headquarters will remain in New York City, where its founders and management team will continue to
lead and grow the business.
"We are confident this acquisition will propel Kimball International forward, creating one of the leading
omnichannel commercial furniture companies in the industry, based in Jasper, Indiana."
