JPD: Man and Juvenile Arrested on Alcohol Related Charges
Jasper- Jasper Police say a man and juvenile were arrested on alcohol related charges Sunday.
Police say officers were called about a black Ford Explorer with two possibly impaired people inside at the Westwood Apartments. The caller told officers the front seat passenger was seen vomiting from the window.
When officers arrived, they identified the driver as 23-year-old Joshua Guernsey. The juvenile was taken to Memorial Hospital due to his level of intoxication.
Guernsey failed field sobriety tests according to JPD. A chemical draw at the hospital showed a BAC of .11.
Guernsey was charged with:
- Contributing to the delinquency of a Minor (Level 5 Felony)
- Neglect of a dependent (Level 6 Felony)
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a minor passenger in the vehicle (Level 6 Felony)
- Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor (Class B Misdemeanor)
- Operating while Intoxicated (Class C Misdemeanor)
- Operator never received a license (Class C Misdemeanor)
The minor passenger was charged with illegal consumption, possession or transportation of alcohol.
