JPD: Four Sent to Hospital in Accused OWI Accident

Jasper- The Jasper Police Department reports an arrest was made after four people were sent to the hospital following a single vehicle accident.

Around 3:23 Monday morning, JPD was dispatched to a single vehicle accident at Newton and 16th streets. Officers say the driver, Yhembriley Torin Segura, struck a light pole before rolling over. Officer suspect Segura was intoxicated at the time of the accident. 

Segura, along with three passengers, were taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. A chemical test showed Segura had a BAC of .128.

Once released, Segura was taken to the Dubois County Security Center on Charges of:

• OWI
• OWI Endangerment
• OWI Causing serious Bodily injury

Segura was also cited for not having insurance.
