JPD: Claimed Mechanical Issue Led to Single Car Crash

Jasper- A claimed mechanical problem led to a vehicle striking a utility pole.

Jasper Police say on Friday evening, officers responded to South Clay street for reports of an accident. They spoke with the driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Ana Meija, who says a mechanical problem led to her crashing into a Jasper City Utility Pole.

Jasper Municipal Utilities arrived on scene to fix low hanging wires caused by the crash and cleared the roadway. Clay Street was closed during the work.

Meija suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to officials.
