JPD: Accident involving Pedestrian Sends Three to Hospital
Jasper- Jasper police say an accident Tuesday afternoon sent three people to the hospital.
Around 3:45 PM on Tuesday, 88-year-old Priscilla Kaiser left the Kerstien's Property Management lot, traveling north on 3rd Avenue. Kaiser then crossed the intersection at Mill Street, but struck a curb on the passenger side and accelerated. During this time, 61-year-old Jefferey Thomas was climbing down from the bed of a parked truck on Mill Street.
Kaiser would strike the rear of the truck, pinning Thomas between her vehicle and the truck. The impact of the rear end collision with the truck caused it to push forward into another unattended vehicle, causing rear end damage.
Kaiser and her passenger, 53-year-old Buster Halcomb, were transported to Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. Thomas was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Their conditions were not disclosed by officials.
