Jasper Woman Killed After Being Hit by Vehicle While Mowing Grass

JASPER -- A Jasper woman was killed Friday evening after her lawnmower was hit by a vehicle while she was cutting grass.

Police say the crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. Friday on CR 675 North, west of Portersville Road.

60-year-old Ruth Meyer was operating her lawnmower when she entered the roadway from the south and into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Meyer was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
