Jasper Water Department to Continue Hydrant Flushing

Jasper - The Jasper Water Department announced on Monday that, weather permitting, it will continue with the fall hydrant flushing and maintenance program.

Flushing hours will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The fall hydrant flushing will last for the next several weeks until all City hydrants have been flushed.

Company officials say the water will be safe to drink, but customers should use their own discretion if doing laundry during this time because clothes may become discolored. Should anyone experience cloudy or colored water, they are asked to run the cold water tap until it clears.
