Jasper Water Department Continues Spring Hydrant Flushing and Maintenance Program

Jasper - The Jasper Water Department has announced that, weather permitting, the Department will continue with the spring hydrant flushing and maintenance program. Flushing hours are from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. between Monday and Friday.

The spring hydrant flushing will last for the next several weeks until all City hydrants have been flushed. Questions about the water flushing may be directed to the Jasper Municipal Water Department, 812-482-5252.

Company officials said the water will be safe to drink, but customers should use their own discretion if doing laundry during this time because clothes may become discolored.

Should anyone experience cloudy or colored water, they are asked to run the cold water tap until it clears.
