Jasper to Begin Hydrant Flushing April 18th

Jasper - The Jasper Municipal Water Department announced Monday morning that they will begin their hydrant flushing program next week.

The department will begin the "Spring hydrant flushing and maintenance program from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Spring hydrant flushing is expected to last for the next several weeks until all City hydrants have been flushed.

Company officials say the water will be safe to drink, however, customers should use their own discretion if doing laundry during this time because clothes may become discolored.

Should anyone experience cloudy or colored water, they are asked to run the cold water tap until it clears.
