Jasper RC Flyers & Strassenfest Fly-in Delights Attendees
The Jasper RC Flyers are thrilled to announce the resounding success of their
2024 Strassenfest Fly-in, held on Saturday, August 3rd, at 1103 S 350 W, Jasper, IN. The
event brought together RC aircraft enthusiasts, families, and community members for a day of
exciting activities and impressive aerial displays.
The event saw a fantastic turnout, with 28 registered pilots from Evansville, Henderson,
Owensboro, Washington, and New Albany. “This is one of the largest pilot turnout I have seen
in my eight years attending,” said Jeremy Church, Jasper RC Flyers Club Secretary/Safety
Officer. “We just about ran out of space along the flight line, which we even extended this
year,” he continued.
Event Highlights:
RC Aircraft Demonstrations: Talented pilots from around the region showcased
planes of all shapes and sizes. A standout was a Eric Schmidt of Henderson with his
Flex Innovations Mamba 120 Biplane, boasting an 85-inch wingspan, performing
spectacular 3D aerobatics that captivated all attendees.
Candy Drop: Approximately 25 kids enjoyed the fun and excitement of the Candy
Drop.
RC Flight Simulator: The RC flight simulator was a hit, running non-stop throughout
the day, giving attendees a taste of flying an RC plane.
“The Strassenfest Fly-in was a tremendous success, bringing together people of all ages to
celebrate the joy of RC flying,” said Jeremy Church, Jasper RC Flyers Club Secretary/Safety
Officer. “We are grateful for the support of our community and the dedication of our members
who made this event possible.”
