Jasper Officers Appointed to Detectives
Jasper- Two Jasper Police Officers have been appointed detectives.
Officers Josh Greener and Aaron Schmitt received the appointment from the Jasper Board of Public Works on Monday.
Detective Greener was appointed to Detective in June of 2022 according to a release. He is a graduate of Forest Park Jr./Sr. High School before attending USI. Greener also served six years in the Indiana Army National Guard, including service during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
“Ofc. Greener has the experience and knowledge needed for being a great detective. His dedication to this profession will serve the community well in his new role as detective,” according to Jasper Chief Nathan Schmitt.
Detective Schmitt is a Jasper High School and Vincennes University Graduate. Schmitt has been a patrol man since 2016. He has served as a field training officer, law enforcement instructor, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Instructor, a S.T.O.P.S. Instructor, a D.A.R.E. Instructor, Bike Patrol, and an APOD interview evaluator.
“I am excited for Ofc. Schmitt to start his new role as detective and know he will continue to do great work for the police department and the community,” says Chief Schmitt.
