Jasper Motorcyclist Arrested on OWI Charges

Jasper - A Jasper motorcyclist was arrested on OWI charges after testing at 2.5 times the legal limit.


On Sunday morning, just after midnight, the Jasper Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop referencing a driver driving left of center at the intersection of 26th Street and Newton Street. 

After investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motorcycle, Michael T Richardson, 47, of Jasper, showed signs of intoxication. Officers conducted field sobriety test on scene, which Richardson failed. Richardson then refused a chemical test after which a search warrant was applied for and granted. 

Preliminary blood results showed Richardson’s blood alcohol content was .21. 

Richardson was charged with OWI endangerment (a misdemeanor) and OWI above .15 (a misdemeanor) and was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
