Jasper Man Killed on I-69 Tuesday After Parking His Car and Walking into Traffic
FROM LOCAL SOURCES
Indiana State Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a commercial vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 1:50 p.m. on I-64 near Dale near mile marker 55.
Investigators say a 67-year-old Jasper man parked his vehicle on the side of the interstate, exited his vehicle and entered the lanes of traffic. He was hit by an Evansville man driving a semi tractor-trailer.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. We don’t know why he apparently walked into traffic. For that reason, WITZ will not release the man's name at this time.
A westbound lane of I-64 was closed for a time as investigators reconstructed the accident.
