Jasper Man Facing Felony Theft Charge

Jasper- Jasper Police report an arrest after a shoplifting investigation at Walmart.

Officers report responding to a shoplifting call at the Jasper Walmart at 2:00 pm Thursday. Using security camera footage, officers report 56-year-old Wayne Gordon of Jasper attempted to steal several items from the store.

Officers say Gordon can be seen on footage placing 31 items inside a bag without scanning them. The total cost of the attempted theft was $235.05. Gordon would then be seen on video passing all point of sale (POS) areas without paying for the items.

After investigating and reviewing footage, Gordon was arrested for the theft. Due to previous theft arrests, Gordon is facing a Level 6 Felony.
