Jasper Man Faces Slew of Charges Stemming From Noisy Wednesday Night Incident

JASPER -- A Jasper man was arrested Wednesday night on a slew of charges.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Kirkwood Drive around 8:30 p.m. on a noise complaint.
When officers arrived, they made contact with 37-year-old Matthew Runion, who appeared to be highly intoxicated with injuries to his face.
According to arrested reports, the suspect refused to identify himself, and kept putting his hands in his pockets.
Officers placed Runion in handcuffs. That’s when he allegedly became belligerent and refused to quiet down.
A JPD officer sustained injuries to his hand while escorting the suspect to the squad car.
Runion is charged with felony Intimidation and Battery on Law Enforcement. He also faces misdemeanor counts of Resisting, False Informing and False Identifying, in addition to one count of Disorderly Conduct.
