Jasper Man Arrested in New Year's Day Hit-and-Run Incident

Jasper - A Jasper man was arrested on New Year's Day for his involvement in a hit-and-run incident.

On New Year's Day at 8:00 a.m., Jasper Police Officers responded to a location near U.S. 231 and State Road 162 to a call received for a hit-and-fun incident.

Further investigation revealed the incident occurred near the intersection of U.S 231 and South Witz Road. The license plate and vehicle description had been provided to police.

Police then located the vehicle in question and spoke with the owner, Yuliet Pena, 39, of Jasper.

Pena was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
