Jasper Courthouse Square Update: June 15th, 2023

Jasper- City officials and Contractors have provided an update on the ongoing Courthouse Square Infrastructure and Revitalization project.

• The construction crew is pouring the last curbs and sidewalks in the SW quadrant along Main Street.
• Asphalt paving in the SW quadrant is planned for this Saturday, June 17.
• Staging for construction in the SE quadrant will begin soon afterwards with complete switchover the week of June 26.
• The crew continues installing pavers.
• The alley east of The Astra is closed for reconstruction. The alley north of The Astra is open.
• Lighting poles for placement around the fire pit should arrive soon. Furnishings (Adirondack chairs/tables & seating) around the pit are in place.
• Annual flowers will be added to the above-ground planters around the swings and firepit by the first week of July. Mulch will be added to the ground planters now to prevent weeds and preserve soil until fall plantings are made.
• Access to the lower level of the Courthouse on the west side is now closed to the public.
• The parking lot adjacent to City Hall remains available for 2-hour public parking.
• Foot traffic and accessibility to building entrances will be maintained at all times.
• The next meeting with contractor representatives is Wednesday, June 28.
