ISP Investigating Fatal Memorial Day Crash in Crawford County
Crawford Co.- State Police from the Jasper Post are investigating a fatal crash in Crawford County on Memorial Day.
Troopers report responding to the accident on State Road 64 near Eckerty at 4:34 PM. There, they located a 2017 Ford F-150 rolled over and a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro in a ditch.
The Ford was driven by 86-year-old Evansville resident Gerald Jarvis. The Camaro had three occupants inside, 17-year-old Ashtin Ader of St. Meinrad, 18-year-old Riley Mullis, and 19-year-old Connor Mullis, both of Bristow. Riley was pronounced deceased on scene by the Crawford County Coroner. Officials say all four had seatbelts on at the time of the crash.
Troopers on scene believe Jarvis crossed the centerline while traveling westbound on State Road 64 for an unknown reason, side swiping the camaro, driven by Aders, which was traveling eastbound. The collision forced the Camaro off the road into a ditch. Jarvis’ truck would roll over.
Jarvis was transported to the University of Louisville Medical Center for his injuries. Ader and Connor were transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for minor injuries.
ISP says this is an ongoing investigation and no other information can be released. Neither drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash.
