INDOT To Close Portion of SR 161 Near Richland City for Culvert Replacement Next Week

SPENCER COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure on State Road 161 near Richland City for a culvert replacement.

Beginning on Monday, June 17, contractors will close S.R. 161 from about a mile north of S.R. 66 between County Roads 200 and 300 to replace a culvert on Tower Ditch.

During this project, crews will excavate and replace a large culvert across S.R. 161. The project is expected to take until mid-July depending upon weather conditions.

During the closure, local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but through traffic will need to take the official detour using S.R. 66, S.R. 61 and S.R. 62.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
