INDOT Announces Road Projects Next Week in Jasper, Huntingburg and Ferdinand
FROM LOCAL SOURCES
DUBOIS COUNTY -- INDOT crews will be busy working on various project throughout Dubois County starting next week.
JASPER:
Beginning on or around Monday, May 26, INDOT Maintenance Crews will close S.R. 164 about 900 feet east of Greener Road just outside of Jasper to replace a drainage culvert. This project will require excavation across all lanes of traffic, and then replacement of the pavement.
During this project local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but all through traffic should use the official detour following U.S. 231, S.R. 56 and S.R. 545. Work I expected to last for about a day depending upon weather conditions and crews will begin at 7 a.m. However, inclement weather could cause delays in the timeline.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
HUNTINGBURG:
Beginning on or around Monday, May 26, contractors will close the S.R. 64 bridge spanning Rock Creek, about 2 miles west of S.R. 161. This project is for repairs to the bridge deck.
During this project local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but all through traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 61, S.R .68 and S.R. 161. Work is expected to last until the end of June, depending upon weather conditions.
FERDINAND:
Beginning on or around Monday, May 26, contractors will close one lane of S.R. 264 from the intersection at S.R. 162 all the way to the end of S.R. 264 for workers to perform deep patching and resurfacing operations. Crews will be fixing areas of pavement that have weakened or deteriorated over time due to normal usage. Once the patches are complete, they will mill the top layer of asphalt off to add a new driving surface.
During this project one lane will be open at all times. However, the open lane will be restricted to a nine-foot width. Loads wider than nine feet will need to seek an alternate route.
Work is expected to be complete by mid-July depending upon weather conditions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
