Indiana Sees Increase in Unemployment Benefit Claims Last Week Largely Due to COVID-19

STATEWIDE -- More jobs lost because of coronavirus.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 23,604 people in Indiana filed for unemployment benefits last week.  That's up 690 from the previous week's adjusted total of 22,914.

The Department of Labor says 1.54 million people across the U.S. filed for unemployment last week.
