Huntingburg PD Identify Victim of Tuesday Train Accident
Huntingburg- On Tuesday November 29th, 2022 at approximately 3:50 PM, Huntingburg Police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the area of North Main and 8th Street in reference to a female pedestrian that was struck by a train.
The initial dispatch stated that the female was unresponsive but breathing was confirmed. Officers arrived shortly after the initial dispatch and located the female, later Identified as 71-year-old Maria Adela Mora of Huntingburg. Maria was on the North side of the tracks approximately 40 yards East of Main Street.
Officers and first responders provided medical treatment until the ambulance arrived. Maria was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Jasper where she succumbed to her injuries.
No more information has been released. The investigation is still ongoing.
