Huntingburg Dairy Queen, Local Groups, Vow to Feed Kids During Coronavirus Closures

FROM LOCAL SOURCES

HUNTINGBURG -- Some Dubois County businesses are stepping up to help those in need in our community during the coronavirus crisis.

With all Dubois County Schools closed …. The Dairy Queen in Huntingburg is offering free kids meals from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. today through Friday and again March 30th – April 3rd.

The move comes as communities are working to feed low income children during the school closures.  A school meal is the only meal some local kids get.  With schools shut down, officials want to be sure kids have enough food to get them through.

The community meals program and the Dubois County food bank will continue to operate during their normal hours however they will be operating on a grab and go basis.

* People using these services will need to follow the directions of parking lot attendants to park their car.
* Everyone should remain in their vehicle. A volunteer will come to the car to find out how many people are in the family and if they need items from the food bank community meals or both.
* Volunteers will then bring the food and/or to go meals to the vehicle.

The St. Vincent de Paul donation area will continue to be open as usual.
