Huntingburg Council Discusses Police Salaries, Accepts Property Donation in Meeting

Huntingburg - In a regularly scheduled Common Council meeting this week, Huntingburg officials discussed making police salaries more competitive, accepted a land donation, and more.


Officials took another look at police salaries, which had been worked on years prior. Concerns surrounded losing officers to larger, higher-paying precincts throughout the state. The introduction of possible raises was discussed. No vote or actions were made during the meeting.

The evening meeting began by cementing the 2021 Halloween Trick-or-Treating hours for the city. Trick-or-Treating will take place on Sunday, October 31st, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. `

The city accepted a donation of land from Boxer Girl LLC. The land, valued at $57,000, may be used for green space, a park or trails.
