Have an idea for a business? You are invited to an evening for Dubois County Entrepreneurs + Innovators
Jasper - Anyone with an innovative or entrepreneurial spirit is invited to attend an upcoming event to meet and network with members of the local support network.
If you are seeking to get an idea or business off the ground, this is a great event to meet with individuals and business owners in the community dedicated to helping you succeed.
Dubois County Entrepreneurs + Innovators is hosting a casual evening at the Thyen Clark Cultural Center on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the mayors of Jasper and Huntingburg as well as be introduced to area service providers, potential mentors, and even funding.
The following groups providing those resources will be available to meet personally. The Jasper Chamber of Commerce, Dubois County Chamber of Commerce,
Dubois Strong, Elevate Ventures, Indiana Small Business Development Center, Radius Indiana, the U.S. Department of Agriculture , Vincennes University-Jasper and Purdue Research Foundation.
In addition to access to all of these resources, Matrix Integration CEO and cofounder Brenda Stallings will give some brief remarks about her entrepreneurial journey
and the importance of fostering an ecosystem supporting future entrepreneurs.
“Life is a journey. Building my businesses over the past 50 years has been exciting and scary, grueling and exhausting at times.
But the passion I had for the journey I chose always outweighed the hard work and relationships I knew it would take to be a success,” Stallings said.
“Supporting and helping each other succeed in our communities is what’s needed most for our economy to thrive.”
Along with the upcoming event, the group has partnered with area media companies to create a series of stories highlighting entrepreneurs and
innovators in our community. Since the beginning of the year, legacy businesses like the Schnitzelbank and Woods Printing have been featured
in stories outlining their growth and struggles as they pursued success.
These businesses and many more in Dubois County have helped to build a strong community and vibrant econom
for future businesses to use as a platform to be successful.
“The need to promote the entrepreneurial spirit residing in our area to a new level is essential to the future of our local economy.
The excitement and visionary perspective these individuals bring to the local economic climate can only be surpassed by
the experience of those that preceded them,” Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide said. “Events like this connect the past and present to the future,
bringing them all together to increase the probability of success of new ideas and innovations."
