Jasper- One of Jasper’s newest businesses is bringing sports indoors.
The Broken Tee and Emerald Green Cafe is the latest addition to the Jasper business and entertainment scene. The business features simulation machines, primarily Golf, and a Cafe.
The business was created by owner Andrew Knies as a way to provide more entertainment to the community he’s from.
“The inspiration was probably being born and raised here in Jasper, just like the other kids there was a lack of entertainment in the community,” said Knies.
Golf may be the primary use of the simulators, but there are other sports as well. The Broken Tee will feature football, baseball, basketball, dodgeball, bocce ball, carnival games and others. The Golf Simulator is Full Swing, which was created by PGA Golfer and Master's Champion Tiger Woods.
Simulators can be found in the back part of the building, while the Emerald Green Cafe is in the front on Jasper’s Vine Street. Knies said the partnership was something that made sense to him with the health food company and it also helped satisfy the requirement of food for his liquor license.
Bay rentals are per hour by the bay, said Knies.
“My idea was not to make it more expensive than it would be to play a round of golf in the area.” Said Knies.
Bay rentals vary depending on the day. Monday and Tuesday is $30 per hour, Wednesday and Thursday is $40 per hour, Friday-Saturday is $50 and Sunday is $40 per hour.
The Broken Tee is located at 1280 Vine Street in Jasper. The business is still under construction, but the goal is to open soon, said Knies.
