Give Blood in Honor of World Blood Donor Day
GREENVILLE, KY- The American Red Cross is rewarding those who donate blood or platelets during the month of June.
June 14th is World Blood Donor Day. This day recognizes the importance of donating blood and its donors to keep a stable blood supply.
According to the Red Cross, nearly 2.5 million people give lifesaving blood and platelets each year to their organization, but blood donations decline during the spring and summer months. Holiday weeks like Memorial and Independence Day especially see a decrease in donors.
As a thank you to those who donate blood in the month of June, all donors will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Graceland in honor of the new Baz Luhrmann film, Elvis. This includes roundtrip airfare to Memphis, a three-night stay at The Guest House and Elvis VIP tour, a custom-wrapped Gibson Epiphone guitar and more.
Additionally, those who donate through June 30th will receive a $5 e-gift card to a merchant of choice.
The next American Red Cross blood donation opportunity is June 14-30 in Greenville, Kentucky. The donation will take place at the Greenville Second Baptist Church at 217 W Depot St in Greenville, Kentucky.
