German-American Day Observance

Jasper- The Jasper German Club, Jasper Partnership Commission, and Sister Cities of Jasper, Inc. celebrated their annual German American Day on Thursday evening, October 5, with a dinner and program at the KlubHaus 61.

The dinner and program celebrated the contributions made by German immigrants to the life and culture of the United States.

The annual German American Heritage Award was presented to Sandy Wehr.

A program was given by students who won an essay contest sponsored by German American. 

The students included Gus Hagedorn of Forest Park Junior Senior High School, Emma Pryor of Jasper High School, Brooklyn Kiefer of Northeast Dubois High School, and Kate Durcholz of Southridge High School.

German American presented each student with a scholarship and certificate.
