Friday Traffic Stop Finds Heavily Intoxicated Man
Jasper- An afternoon traffic stop Friday yielded a heavily intoxicated man, say police.
At 3:20pm Friday, Jasper Police Officers responded to South Newton and Schuetter Road intersection following reports of a person driving erratically. Officers located the vehicle at a Jackson Street address and witnessed 28-year-old Ian Robling exit the vehicle.
During their conversation with Robling, police suspected him to be under the influence of alcohol. A field sobriety test was started, but ended early due to safety concerns.
Robling submitted to a portable breath test, which he blew a .359 BAC. He was then transported to Memorial Hospital, where a blood draw showed a BAC of .428.
After being cleared by medical personnel, Robling was transported to the Dubois County Security Center for:
- Class A Misdemeanor OWI over .15 with Endangerment
- Class C Misdemeanor OWI
- Infraction Open Container in Plain view
