Four Dead, Two injured in Greenwood Park Mall Shooting
Greenwood- A shooting in Greenwood, Indiana has left four people dead and two wounded.
Among those four killed were the gunman who has yet to be identified. Police report receiving calls about an active shooter in the Greenwood Park Mall food court around 6:00pm Sunday night. Officers with the Greenwood Police Department, IMPD, State Police, FBI and ATF quickly arrived to the scene according to officer reports.
The shooter is believed to have used a “long-rifle” and had multiple magazines on their person.
The incident ended shortly after the shooting began after what officials are describing as a Bartholomew County Man, who has not been named, stopped the shooter with his own firearm.
Initial reports listed two deaths in the incident but has since climbed to four including the alleged shooter in question.
Their motives are still unknown at this time and an investigation is underway.
Hoosier lawmakers have been sharing their reactions since the shooting took place last night.
Senator Todd Young (R-IN) thanked law enforcement, and Senator Mike Braun says he's grateful for the brave armed citizen who took action to stop the perpetrator.
Governor Eric Holcomb tweeted
“Lives were lost today, and I'm thinking about all the victims of this horrible incident, now and in the days and weeks to come.”
