Former IU Football Player Arrested In Connection to Mississippi Murder

Jackson, MS- Former IU student and football player Jamison Kelly has been charged with accessory to murder.

Police in Jackson, Mississippi say Kelly drove Joshua Brown away from the murder scene of Jaylen Burns. Brown was arrested for Burns’ murder and is facing illegal gun possession charges.

A warrant for Kelly’s arrest was issued on October 18th, and a Hinds County Court Judge denied bail, citing Kelly as a flight risk due to his connections in Indiana.

Kelly appeared in only one game for IU’s special teams, the Hoosiers win over Indiana State. IU Head Coach Tom Allen announced in late September Kelly would no longer be a part of the team. He signed with IU in December 2022 after playing at Louisiana Tech and Jones College.
