Former Bedford Police Officer Arrested

Lawrence Co.- A former Bedford Police Officer has been arrested on three charges.

Indiana State Police Jasper Detective, Sergeant Brock Werne filed for and received an arrest warrant for Morgan Lee, 45, of Bedford, following an investigation into Battery that allegedly occurred on January 8, 2021, in Lawrence County.

The investigation started when Bedford Chief of Police, Terry Moore, contacted the Indiana State Police after receiving a complaint from a citizen that Lee had battered them. Upon the conclusion of the investigation by Detective Sergeant Brock Werne, all findings were turned over to a Special Prosecutor for review. 

As a result, Senior Prosecuting Attorney, Chris Gaal, filed the following charges in Lawrence County Court:

Official Misconduct, Level 6 Felony
Strangulation, Level 6 Felony
Battery, Class B Misdemeanor

On March 4, 2022 Lee turned himself in to the Lawrence County Jail.
