Florida Man Leads Jasper Police on Short Chase Saturday Night
From Local Sources
JASPER -- A Florida man is facing a felony charge in Jasper following a short police chase Saturday night.
A concerned motorist called 911 to report a driver all over the roadway on SR 164 coming in to Jasper around 6 p.m.
When officers tried to stop the vehicle, police say the driver continued onto 15th Street, refusing to stop.
The vehicle abruptly came to a stop at the intersection of 15th St. and Leopold St. That’s when 43-year-old Jesus Perez allegedly exited the vehicle and got into a struggle with an officer.
He was arrested and charged with a felony count of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle and a misdemeanor count of Resisting. Police also say Perez had no insurance on the vehicle.
A passenger in the car was taken into custody then released.
