DNR Fish of the Year Awards Announced
Local Sources- The 2022 Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Fish of the Year Awards have been announced.
DNR reports 71 anglers submitted their catches for 55 different species. Of those 71, there were two winners in our listening area.
Sam Sermersheim was awarded with the best Hybrid Sunfish. The fish was a foot in length according to DNR and was caught in a private pond in Dubois County.
Matthew Kiefer was awarded the best Large Mouth Bass by DNR. The fish was 22 inches in length and was caught in Loon Pit in Warrick County.
Winning entries are determined by fish length. Participants are required to submit information about their fish, including where they caught it and the bait they used. They must also include a photo documenting the length of the fish.
