The Ferdinand Library will be closed at 6pm on 11/27; all day on 11/28 & 11/29 for the Thanksgiving Holiday and all day on 11/11 for Veteran’s Day.

Pokemon Club: 11/2 10-11:30AM Pokemon Fans of all ages are invited to see movies, complete challenges, and bring their games to play with others.

Kids Canvas Painting:  11/4  3:30PM & 6PM Kids will be painting a watercolor spiderweb.  *Register at: www.jdcpl.us

Family Craft:  11/6 3:30PM  Children and Adults are welcome to make a metal fall hanger.   *Registration required at www.jdcpl.us

Book Sale: 11/9 10AM-1PM The Friends Of The Ferdinand Library is held on the second Saturday of each month. You can enter the Library Basement from the inside or by using the outside north door near the Ferdinand Community Center parking lot.  Most paperbacks are $.50 and most hardcovers are $1. Bird Presentation:  11/9 10-Noon Ken Barnes, Golden Sparrow Nature Society, will be presenting on “birds”.  He’ll discuss how to set up backyard stations, how to attract birds and other animals. Registration preferred at www.jdcpl.us

Melted Bead Container Craft:  11/14 6PM  Adults/Teens will melt beads to make tiny flowers and then will attach them to a tin to make a beautiful container. *Registration required at www.jdcpl.usOpen Playtime For Littles:  11/15 10-Noon  Come to our Children’s Room and just enjoy playing!

Reindeer Visit:  11/16 11-Noon EDT  As part of the Ferdinand Christkindlmrkt activities, the public is invited to a meet and greet with a live reindeer. It makes a great photo opportunity.

SAD Presentation:  11/20 6:30-7:30PM  Join Jenna Bieker Jones for “Seasons Of Change: Understanding & Managing Seasonal Mood Shifts”.  She provides education on how mental health can be influenced by changing seasons. This presentation will discuss Dr. Norman Rosenthal’s book, “Defeating SAD,” to provide attendees an opportunity to assess their own seasonality and develop a plan of tips & tricks to maintain mental health throughout the year.  Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD is a condition whereby an estimated 1 in 20 people suffer predictable changes during the dark short days of autumn and winter. Come learn how to implement practical changes to improve  your mood before winter settles in!  Participants will get a chance to win a free light lamp just for attending. Homeschool Hub:  11/20 1PM  This month, Homeschoolers will be making terrariums with live succulent plants! Fill a jar with soil, pebbles and decorations to make a lovely space for your new plant friend to thrive in.  *Register at www.jdcpl.us

Book Hedgehog Craft:  11/21 5-7PM Adults/Teens can fold a book that is provided. After adding wiggly eyes and pom pom nose, you’ll have your own Hedgehog!  *Register at www.jdcpl.us

Art For Littles:  11/26 10AM Children 5 and under are invited to this creative experience using library art supplies!

Hoopla:   Hoopla offers a massive variety of e-books, e-audiobooks, comics, music, movies, & TV shows. It is available for Library Patrons at www.jdcpl.us/digital-content.

Kanopy:    Kanopy offers movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films, and a great selection of kid friendly shows & animated storybooks.  Kanopy uses a ticket model. Patrons currently receive 10 tickets per month. Unused tickets do not rollover. Each show or movie costs a certain amount of tickets. Unlimited views in the Kanopy Kids section. No tickets used. The Ferdinand Library’s hours are Monday thru Thursday, 9am-8pm (EST), Friday (9am-5pm) and Saturday, 9am-2pm (EST).
