Ferdinand Issues Monthly Report and Year Re-Cap of Town Agencies

Ferdinand - The Town of Ferdinand issued a monthly report on Tuesday, recapping happenings from Town Agencies.

Police Department

Ferdinand Police Department Chief Lloyd Froman reported a total of 194 calls for service.

Officers received a minimum of 24 hours of training for the year, keeping them certified with the ILEA.

Ferdinand P.D. ordered a 2022 Dodge Durango from Fletcher Chrysler out of Franklin, Indiana. The vehicle is expected to be delivered sometime mid-year.

In December the department assisted or investigated: eight suspicious person/vehicle calls, 11 traffic accidents, two instances of theft, one harassment, and two civil disputes, among other statistics.

Fire Department

Ferdinand Fire Department ended the 2021 with 201 total runs – the most ever

The damage on the south side of Station #2 has been fixed.

Ferdinand F.D. will have a roster of 36 in 2022.

Electric Department

Ferdinand encountered two unplanned outages in the past month. On Christmas day, areas experienced an outage for a half-hour due to an animal issue. On January 10th, service stalled for an hour due to a bad switch at a warehouse.

The Electric Department also reports that a decorative street light on the south bypass was hit during slick weather.

Town Council

Trees marked by the Department of Natural Resources have been taken down at the 18th Street Park and Old Town Lake.
