JASPER -- Wicked storms moved through the area Sunday night packing 70 mph wind gusts, heavy rain and lots of lightning.

In Jasper, a tree brought power lines down on a house in the 1000 block of Ackerman Road just before 9 p.m. Sunday.

The active lines sparked a fire in a wall and attic area.

Fire crews responded and put the fire out.  The couple that lived in the home is staying in an area hotel.

Dubois REC reported widespread power outages across Dubois County following Sunday’s storms.

Power is back on to all customers at this hour.
