Empowering Girls, Transforming Lives: Girls on the Run of Southwest Indiana Launches 52 Week Raffle in Celebration of 10th Anniversary

Girls on the Run of Southwest Indiana proudly announces the commencement of a transformative 52 Week Raffle, marking a significant milestone as the organization celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2024. This impactful fundraising initiative aims to elevate awareness and support for Girls on the Run, a program dedicated to inspiring young girls to become their bravest selves while fostering essential life skills and enduring connections. This raffle is needed to continue the work towards the $200,000 goal that the Lilly Endowment Inc. has started with their generous $80,000 grant through Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana.

Unleashing Potential, Creating Opportunities
Girls on the Run has been a beacon of empowerment for a decade, serving 1,600 Dubois County girls since its inception in 2014. Expanding its reach, Girls on the Run of Southwest Indiana began serving Vanderburgh County in 2020 and continues to grow and cultivate, adding 12 new schools this year. The organization is thrilled to announce its growth in Spencer County in 2024, further solidifying its commitment to reaching and positively impacting more communities.

"I'm truly delighted to see young ladies from my community taking part in something as amazing as this, and gaining skills that they can carry forward throughout their lives. It warms my heart to know that they're being empowered through this experience, "said Jamie Hale, 21 st Century Scholar Site Coordinator for Glenwood Elementary School.

The 52 Week Raffle is a unique opportunity for the community to contribute to this growth and ensure that the transformative programs of Girls on the Run reach even more girls in Southwest Indiana.

Donation Dollars in Action
Every dollar plays a crucial role in sustaining the impactful programs of Girls on the Run. Despite the generous $80,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., aimed at Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana, there is still much more work to be done. With each dollar received, Girls on the Run extends its reach to support an additional 300-500 girls annually, adding to the 1,600 girls already served since its inception. This year, the organization is expanding its services to three counties, boasting 75 trained coaches and awarding 45-50 scholarships. Consequently, over 23 schools will now have access to Girls on the Run programs.

This underscores the significance of every dollar, and it is through the support of this raffle that these girls will receive additional assistance on their transformative journey. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly contributes to empowering more young lives and building a stronger community through Girls on the Run.
