Eighth Annual Family Nature Fest Returns This Weekend
The Family Nature Fest is back! The eighth annual Family Nature Fest is Saturday,
May 22 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM EDT at Ferdinand State Forest. The Fest is
free, but pre-registration is required. Participants should follow the signs to the
Sycamore Shelters.
The Family Nature Fest will be “Covid friendly” this year. Participants are asked to
pre-register by calling Ferdinand State Forest at 812-827-2857 to reserve a spot!
Space is limited to 60 people. No face masks will be required outdoors, but feel
free to bring one along.
The 2021 Family Nature Fest features the brand-new Wood on Wheels interactive
forestry display. Also planned is a wildlife themed activity, and a walk through the
woods with Property Manager Jamie Winner and Ron Rathfon, Purdue Extension
Forester. Door prizes will be awarded, and local foresters and other experts will
be available all morning to answer your tree, forest management, and invasive
species questions.

Ferdinand State Forest is located six miles east of Ferdinand, at 6583 E State Road
264, Ferdinand, Indiana. The Family Nature Fest is sponsored by the Four Rivers
Forestry Committee and IDNR Division of Forestry, with support from the Dubois
County Soil and Water Conservation District and Purdue Extension.
