Easterseals Telethon this Friday
Evansville- The Easterseals Rehab Center will serve as the backdrop for the Telethon, which airs on ABC 25/CW7 for the 46th consecutive year with additional coverage on the Easterseals Facebook page.
Members of the Eyewitness News team will host the broadcast and the final hour of the show will be simulcast live on both ABC25 and The CW 7.
The community is encouraged to tune in throughout the day for interviews with local children, adults and families served by Easterseals, special video segments, local groups competing in “Dialin’ & Duelin’ for Dollars”, and special guests. Among the individuals sharing their “impact stories” will be local Easterseals Adult Ambassador Michelle Schmitt and Child Ambassador Waylon Jackson.
There will be no audience seating inside this year (to allow therapy services to continue throughout the day) but the public is invited to activities outside the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center. Classic cars, street rods, and other vehicles will be on display 3:30-6 p.m. during the annual “Telethon Cruise-In” hosted by E'ville Iron Street Rod Club.
The goal for this year’s Telethon is to share the Easterseals mission, celebrate the impact of the organization in the community, and to encourage donations. All funds raised will help to provide inclusive early education and essential therapy services for local children and adults with disabilities.
